You – Alcohol, Stimulants, Pills, Medications and Cigarettes
Don’t abuse – Remember you’re the only parent at home now!
Be aware of them in your life: alcohol, stimulants, pills, and medications.
Always follow your doctor’s advice.
They can become addictive so use extreme moderation.
Never try to mask your feelings by using drugs and alcohol or by oversleeping.
If you even suspect you’re drinking too much or taking too many pills, see your doctor immediately and ask for his or her help.
Alcohol is a depressant, which in time leads to isolation and loneliness. Stay away from the booze.
Keep them far away from your children.
For every cigarette you smoke you lose 14 minutes of your life.
Cigarettes – NOW is the perfect time to quit. Remember, it’s for your kids.
Your children look to you as their role model. Remember actions talk louder then words.
If you think your children are using any of them, take action IMMEDIATELY to stop their use.
If your becoming a single parent is due to your ex-spouse or one of your children abusing alcohol you may want to attend Al-Anon / Alateen. This is a spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous and is for people whose lives are affected by someone else’s alcohol problem.
