Old Friends – Single Parent Style
As a single parent:
This is when you find out who your true friends are.
Old friends tend to drift away with time, due to your new situation.
Many old friends will stop making contact with you because they either don’t know the right thing to say or do, concerning your situation.
Their help is sometimes misguided.
Old friends don’t want to listen about your new life.
Be patient with impatient friends.
Remember – they were once your new friends.
Many of your old friends will feel uncomfortable around the new you.
You may begin to feel uncomfortable around your old friends
You will have to find new friends.
Try to make new friends each week.
Old friends have a hard time fitting into your new life situation.
Your friends care, but they’re busy with their own problems.
Many of your past married friends may now be single parents as you are. Try to reconnect with them.
