Eating Out – Single Parent Style
It’s the most expensive way to feed you and your children.
Avoid fast-food restaurants, as much as possible.
Always choose the healthier choice on the menu.
Some restaurants offer discounts on early eating times. Use them whenever possible.
If it is not in the budget – don’t eat out.
If you have young children, eat where they are free.
Drink water, it’s free, instead of expensive and calorie laden carbonated drinks. Ask them to add a lemon for extra taste.
Skip deserts. If you must have a desert, share.
If the portions are large, share. Buy one less meal and ask for an extra plate.
Use coupons or purchase a discount coupon book.
It’s probably not in your budget very often – if at all.
Use a cash envelope for eating out. When the cash in the envelope is gone – no more eating out for the month.
“If we’re not willing to settle for junk living,
we certainly shouldn’t settle for junk food.”
“Tell me what you eat, I’ll tell you who you are.”
