National Marriage Week – February 7-14

What a great week to celebrate each year. A week to highlight “Let’s Strengthen Marriage”. A week to celebrate God’s gift to mankind.

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:31

Marriage is the institution given to us by and ordained by God to bring man and woman together to form the family unit here on earth.
Marriage is a natural law – not just a legal document.
It’s not just a contract between two people as many believe, but a covenant relationship between a man, a woman and God. It takes all three to make a successful marriage.
Marriage was established by our Creator with it’s own nature, essential properties and purpose. It is a sacred union between a man and his wife.
The institution of marriage has come under attack over the last decade. They try to say that marriage is whatever individuals want marriage to be.
Most couples enter into marriage expecting to succeed. They look at divorce statistics and believe those figures won’t apply to them.
* 50% of 1st marriages end in divorce
* 60% of 2nd marriages end in divorce
* 70% of 3rd marriages end in divorce
* 49% of families in Mississippi are led by single parents
Marriage is definitely under attack and we must do all we can to strengthen our marriages.
Marriage is the foundation that a healthy and wholesome society is built on. It is a place where children can grow up in an atmosphere of security, love and happiness.
I ask you to join me February 7-14 to celebrate National Marriage Week.
A week to look at ways to strengthen our marriages.
